You Could Poke Yer Eye Out
It is fairly common knowledge that I’m a big U2 fan. I like their music and I agree in principle to Bono’s ideas about Africa and the Third World but I generally turn a blind eye to the personal egotism that the band (esp. Bono) occasionally espouses. So with that said, I think I’m going to go on record as saying that even I think this is a bad idea.
While it’s been about 10 years since I was last in Dublin and my memory for the city’s geography is somewhat sketchy at best (read: I went on a week long pub crawl bender that left everything blurry and was more concerned with where I left my pants than what street I was on), even I think that it’s an eyesore to look at and doesn’t gel with anything currently in the area.
Here’s hoping they manage to reign in their egos somewhat.
