Pile O’ Shame

Everyone has them. That pile of games or movies or music that you bought and have every intention of playing (or watching or listening) but never get around to it. Your reasons, whatever they may be, are valid (I know mine are) but the pile still exists in spite of them, and in most cases grows.

For me, my pile is populated with games that I’ve started but never finished. Thankfully my movie pile is negligent with only two titles that are purchased but unwatched and I can’t remember the last time I bought a cd so let’s not even go there.

My game pile of shame consists of the following (in no particular order):

Infamous
Darksiders
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Uncharted 2
Assassin’s Creed 2
The Saboteur
Bayonetta
Dragon Age: Origins
Fallout 3
Ghostbusters
Little Big Planet

The sad thing is I can...

Amusing Myself…

The things I do at 6 in the morning when I’m trying to get the baby to sleep. Guh. Oh how the mighty have fallen…

Anyways, here is some fluff to amuse yourselves with.

My pirate name is:

Bloody Harry Flint

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it’s the open sea. For others (the masochists), it’s the food. For you, it’s definitely the fighting. Like the rock flint, you’re hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you’re easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Just d/l’d WordPress for my crackberry and figured I’d test it out and see how useful it is. Here goes.

Hello World!

Hello Everyone, I’d like you to meet Emily Jade, my darling daughter.

IMG00003

She was born at 1.31 am on December 2nd, 2009. She weighed in at 8lb. 3oz.  and measured 21 3/4″ long. It was a fairly easy delivery after being induced and mum and baby are healthy and happy (if tired). There are more pics in the Gallery and I’ll add to them when I can.

Obviously my already sporadic and non-existent posting schedule just got worse. Deal with it.

A Gathering Storm

Alright… so:

“The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again.”

Sound familiar to anyone?

Yeah, I thought so.

If you are at all like me and have read at least one of the twelve books in the series you’ve read that line at least once. What does that line signify? Well it pretty much signifies that yup, even after RJ’s passing the Wheel still turns. A Gathering Storm, the twelfth book in the series was just released a few days ago. Penned by Brandon Sanderson from RJ’s copious notes it looks to be another massive brick of a book...

T Minus One Month (Give or Take)

So in a little under a month, the growth that has been hindering Tamara’s sleep will be excised and I will be the proud parent of a new baby wetums doll. Or something along those lines. Yup, that’s right… approximately 30 days from now is when the little squidlet is due and I can’t wait. No clue as to the baby’s gender as of yet, so that’ll be fun. Stuff around here isn’t ready yet at all… sigh! Such is the life of a hectic homeowner I guess.

I’ll post more once the time is nigh and obviously I’ll spam the obligatory newborn baby pics.

Ugh.. next I’ll be corralling you all into watching my home movies of the vacation to butt-fuck, nowhere. Bah!

Anyways, I shall spam more later. In the interim there is laundry to do and boxes to unpacketh. Yay me!

Moving Moving!

Guh! I hate moving… Well, not really. I love moving but I hate the actual physical labour involved in such a task.

Even a full month after I’ve “moved in” I still find I’m moving stuff and unpacking. god it’s a pain in my arse. One wonders when (or even if) it will ever end.

I’m Going To Hell

So Patrick Swayze died tonight and rather than mourn or comment on the loss of an actor that I didn’t really care all that much about, all I could think was “This is what happens when you put Baby in a corner.”

Yup. I’m going to Hell… and I don’t mind one bit.

G’night

Time Well Wasted…

You ever get the feeling that time, that arbitrary, ephemeral concept just sort of exists to piss us the fuck off?

I mean honestly, if it weren’t for time I’d be happily ensconced in a book without a worry in the work. Or perhaps I’d be scribbling words on a page, forging headlong and onward in the novel in my head. Instead I sit here, Stumbling and typing this trying to wind down from another exhausting day when I could be happily sleeping next to the woman of my dreams…

Actually ya know what… fuck you lot. I’m going to bed. This post can wait.

G’nite

(But in the interim…. The Trailer for “The Men Who Stare At Goats” is good. Watch it.)

The Written Word!

Ahh spare time, oh how I miss you!

If you’ve been paying attention at all to my blog you’ll have noticed that the little widget down at the bottom left that is supposed to show images for all the books I’ve read/am reading/etc. hasn’t changed much in the past … 6-8 months. I’m sad to say that I have not read a book for about 2 months. I feel somewhat dirty and shamefaced for admitting this. I just haven’t had the time.

The widget is more than a little out of date however and a pain in the arse to update so I’m just going to say…. Scott Lynch’s Gentlemen Bastards Saga is good. I highly recommend the first book, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and while the 2nd book, Red Seas Under Red Skies, wasn’t quite as good in my opinion, it still was a damn fine read.

I’ve got a couple of books on the go at...
